Difficulty Ranking
for Mount Yale, April 17, 2004
standard route - Denny Creek (SW)

This ascent of Mount Yale rates a difficulty of 2.5 out of 5. This is the standard approach on Yale, from Denny Creek on the southwest side. Conditions were very springlike -- hard snow in the morning, slushy by noon. The trail itself was well-travelled for the first couple miles, and even when tracks diverged, the general route was pretty easy to figure out. The big factors on the were the weather and the slushy hike out -- very tiring!
