The Front, Tenmile Range and Mosquito Range of Colorado are the best known and most heavily traveled mountains in Colorado, mainly due to their accessibility. The only two 14ers accessible by car are found on the Front Range - Mount Evans and Pikes Peak. The road to the Evans summit is the highest paved roadway in the nation. And if you've never heard of Pikes Peak, well, you've probably been living in a cave all your life.
Most of these peaks are easy hikes, and make for great first climbs. However, since a significant portion of the planet knows this, expect to encounter crowds on most summer weekends and holidays.
