| Montrose is one of those towns that everyone enjoys visiting, but no-one can remember exactly why. There's nothing spectacular per se about this middling-sized town on Colorado's western slope, but it's a wonderful gateway to the western side of the state. From Montrose, you're close to the Black Canyon, Grand Mesa, Telluride, miles and miles of National Forest, and so on! A good chunk of the Montrose budget comes from tourism, so you're likely to find people going out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at home. If you're looking for a quiet spot off the beaten path but still with many of the big-city amenities, Montrose is your place. |
