| Come in to Gunnison and you'll know you're in the west. Located on US 50 about 20 miles west of the base of Monarch Pass, Gunnison is heavily influenced by ranchers, cowboys, railroads, and native Americans. Nearby to the north is the Crested Butte ski area, for you winter hounds. Just west of town lies the spectacular Blue Mesa Reservoir and the newest National Park, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The tourist industry isn't too major here, so you'll definitely be able to enjoy the ambiance of the place. |
