| Frisco is ground zero in Summit County...just minutes from all the ski areas, and on the west shore of Dillon Reservoir...OK, it ain't Lake Superior, but it's still big enough for tons of boating and other water-related recreation. Frisco's Main Street is a fabulous mixture of shops and eateries, all with a small mountain town kind of flair. In the summer, not a weekend passes that there's not some kind of festival happening. Despite the huge tourist crunch in the summer and winter, they manage to keep things fairly low key here. Adjoining Frisco along the reservoir dam is the community of Dillon/Silverthorne, which features a full marina and full collection of factory outlet shops, for you trendy folks. A great place to hang out. If the people get to be too much, you can always find some solitude in the mountains around town. Just don't forget the sunscreen, especially if you're going to be on the water! |
