This tiny little town sits wedged in a canyon of the Rio Grande, and seems to have been lost in time. The main town itself has only a few amenities...the Creede Hotel is just about the only one in town. The local eateries feature good, hearty food of the type that makes you wonder where its supposed to grow hair on you. Just outside Creede are a number of guest ranches for those looking for a full rustic vacation. If you want to get away from modern civilization while hiking 14er's, this is definitely the place!
